WISH are visiting Abbeywood, a 45 acre estate set around an Edwardian house close to Delamere Forest in Cheshire, to spend an afternoon in a splendid English country garden. The estate includes nine separate garden areas, each with its own distinctive character and themed planting, including:
* Tropical garden
* Pool garden
* Pergola walk
* Chapel garden
* Jane’s garden
* Vegetable garden
* Glasshouse borders
* Arboretum and woodland walk
The afternoon will begin with a welcome and overview of the estate, followed by time to explore the grounds. For the artists amongst us this could be an ideal opportunity to put paint to canvas or take some stunning photographs of the flora and fauna. Or, you may like to take the opportunity to walk around the outskirts of the estate where you may see a variety of wildlife including Buzzards, Kestrels and butterflies. Full afternoon tea will then be served in the orangery (served as a private group sitting).
